Heron Preston & BAPE Launch Collaborative Collection

1

Heron Preston has teamed up with BAPE on a limited edition collection comprised of apparel, accessories, and a BAPE STA.

For this collaboration, the NYC-based artist and designer pulled inspiration from BAPE’s archive, pulling references from the ’90s and ’00s. APE HEAD graphic tees nod to BAPE’s early screen prints of the late ’90s, while the camo that adorns the majority of the pieces is a mix of BAPE’s 1st CAMO and the purple COLOR CAMO famously worn by Lil Wayne at the 2005 BET Awards. This mix camo appears on a Shark Hoodie, sweatpants, workwear jacket, double-knee painter pants, and trucker hat.

The collaboration also includes an official Heron Preston BAPE STA, a full circle moment if you remember Preston’s “Street Sweepers” art project from 2015, where Preston took pairs of Air Force 1s and stripped them of Nike branding and replaced the Swoosh with a BAPE STA logo made of vintage Gucci leather. The Heron Preston BAPE STA comes in Preston’s signature Safety Orange.

The BAPE x Heron Preston collection launches on Saturday, May 7th via BAPE stores, BAPE.com, the Heron Preston website, and Farfetch. Check out the lookbook photos and complete collection below.
