Billionaire Boys Club and Reebok are back with their latest sneaker collab, following the launch of their Instapump Fury BOOST “Earth & Water” pack in 2021. This time around, the duo are teaming up on a new iteration of the Zig Kinetica II.
The BBC Zig Kinetica II comes dressed in earthy brown tones and features BBC’s iconic digi-camo print across the knit mesh upper, giving the shoe a military-inspired aesthetic. A pixelated astronaut logo is mixed into the print, a detail pulled directly from the BBC archives. Additional features including a BBC-branded pull tab that runs down the tongue, a cream Zigtech midsole, and BBC’s mantra “Wealth is of the heart and mind, not the pocket” hidden on the heel tab.
“The BBC Zig Kinetica II was inspired by the quality and functionality of tactical gear,” says BBC. “We wanted to bring some of those functional elements to this shoe through details such as speed lace hooks , as well as nylon pull tabs at the heel and tongue for ease of accessibility. The Digi-Camo comes from our archives, and we thought it would be the perfect pattern for this utilitarian silhouette.”
The campaign imagery blends the themes of tactical gear and space-age design. It centers around a futuristic dystopia where a treadmill and VR tech have replaced true outdoor experience.
