In 2013, Blends created one of the most beloved Vans shoe designs, a black leather Sk8-Hi Zip with a white bone-shaped Jazz Stripe. This spawned a long-standing partnership spanning multiple collaborations between the two California entities. Quickly following up their latest collab, the “Unreleased Pack,” Vans and Blends take a unique approach to their iconic design with the Vault by Vans x Blends OG Style 36 LX “Magic Tape” Pack.
The pack consists of three colorways of the Old Skool Style 36 LX — black, marshmallow, and green — each incorporating the signature bone jazz stripe design. The twist this time is that the bones are velcro-backed and interchangeable (“Magic Tape” is a nickname for velcro in Japan). The bones come in three different colors (white, grey, black), allowing fans to swap them out and create their own custom arrangements. Each shoe features premium canvas construction, hairy suede on the heels, eyelets, and toe cap, and all-white midsoles with black waffle outsoles.
The Blends x Vans Vault OG Style 36 LX “Magic Tape” pack kicks off with the release of the black colorway on May 28th at 11am PST on the Blends website and at Blends locations.
