Update (12/09/19): After getting a first look back in August, we now have an update on Blondey’s take on the adidas Superstar. The 22-year-old artist, skateboarder, model, and designer has taken to Instagram to share some insight on this collaboration between him and adidas:

“When I was told that I was being given the opportunity to design a colourway of the superstar, two questions sprung to mind – First, the classick ‘what have I done to deserve this?’ (I find myself asking this on a daily basis, for one reason or another). Then, the less frequently asked question ‘why meddle with a masterpiece?’ and how to. I knew that I wanted to do something that hadn’t been done to the shoe in its quinquagenarian existence, without fundamentally changing its DNA. It had to be vegan, it had to be durable, and it had to strike the right balance of both fashion and function, so that it would also exist outside of the world of skateboarding. Why limit yourself to one world? The goal is of course to create your own.”

The shoes feature a clear PVC upper and come with three pairs of tall socks that pay homage to Blondey’s home in London’s Soho: a blue pair for Picadilly & Oxford, a red pair for St. Giles & Cambridge (both of which are circuses in Soho), and a white pair that simply says Blondey and adidas with a blue outline of the River Thames.

The Blondey x adidas Superstar drops this Saturday, December 14th at select retailers and adidas.com. Check them out below.

Original Story (08/05/19): Blondey McCoy has a lot of creative notches on his belt. The 22-year-old has modeled for Palace and Supreme, skated for Palace and adidas, and has his own successful fashion line. Now he is collaborating with adidas for a new take on the adidas Superstar silhouette.

Blondey customizes the superstar with a transparent upper with black Three-Stripes and heel panel and a dark brown sole and toe. It also has a white leather trim on the ankle with a matching tongue. Completing the look is “BLONDEY” in gold print in place of the Superstar name.

Blondey has posted a picture of friend and fellow skater Mark Gonzales wearing a tinted version on Instagram, but these are rumored to be a friends and family exclusive colorway.
