Bodega x New Balance 990v3 “Anniversary”

After a teaser last month, Bodega and New Balance have officially announced the release of their collaborative New Balance 990v3. The announcement comes with the unveiling of the “Here To Stay” campaign, a keepsake for the retailer’s reputation of providing longevity, carefully curated pieces and a commitment to keep growing.

The shoes take on an earthy overtone with an olive and muted forest green color palette. Suede, leather and mesh serve as the dominant materials in the construction. Creative details come in the form of a 3M reflective “N” logo and a “Made in USA” message. “2006” and “2021” commemorate Bodega’s 15th birthday, respectively split between each heel. Clay orange and aqua provide accents on the top eyelets, Bodega branding and sockliner to break through the otherwise neutral tones. The silhouette then sits upon a bed of gum outsole.

Wearing athletic sneakers for any reason besides athletics was unheard of during Bodega’s launch year. However, over the years, foot and streetwear have evolved into something much more. The campaign proves that although the world changes with each trend, brand and idea that enters this atmosphere, the overarching sense of belonging for all – like a footprint in cement – is here to stay.

Bodega has always been more than just a store. It also acts as a venue to support subversive and underground art. For this reason, Bodega has launched a second campaign titled “Leave Your Mark,” which features Van Buren Records, the music collective from Brockton, Mass., and Stay Silent, a collective from Providence, Rhode Island known for throwing parties and various events throughout the New England area. The Bodega x New Balance 990v3 “Anniversary” will launch on Wednesday, June 16th at 12pm ET on the Bodega website.
