Original Story (12/17/20): Following some early leaks, Bodega officially announces its upcoming Nike collaboration, the Dunk High “Legend.”
As the Boston-based retailer explains in a blog post, the Bodega x Nike campaign is inspired by the kids of today that become the legends of tomorrow. On the Dunk High “Legend,” we see classic Americana design cues and raw material textures and colors that give the shoe a lived-in look, evoking a timeless aesthetic. Like an old mitt and baseball, or a saddle and boots, the Dunk High “Legend” is meant to be kept for years, building character over time, and eventually passed down to a new generation of legends.
Material-wise, the Dunk High “Legend” features pebbled leather paired with standard and hairy suede, with rawhide lacing and boot stitch detailing adding a touch of old-fashioned craftsmanship. Modern elements are incorporated with embossed, iron-style ‘Bodega’ wordmark branding placed opposite a tortoiseshell, jewel Swoosh. The feeling of discovery is also given a subtle place in the Dunk’s design in the form of a stash pocket on the inner side of the tongue.
The Bodega x Nike Dunk High “Legend” and accompanying apparel drops on Monday, December 28th at 12pm EST via bdgastore.com. A limited number of pairs sold by Bodega will include a set of additional rawhide laces.
