South Central LA streetwear brand Bricks & Wood and New Balance have come together on a collaboration on the 57/40 silhouette. To shoe was unveiled in Bricks & Wood’s short film titled “Jungle to Jungle” directed by Curtis Taylor Jr. which was screened in Los Angeles earlier this week.
“Consider this your brochure to the city, from my Jungle to yours, welcome to Los Angeles,” says Kasey Lynch, founder and CEO of Bricks & Wood about the project. Though the film revolves around Kasey as a young boy from South Central who grew up and designed a shoe, the overlying message is that no matter where you are in the world, there is a utopia where one’s dreams are possible. The vibrant green colorway pays homage to Los Angeles, the “land of opportunity,” though more specifically to South Central, the neighborhood Lynch is so passionate about.
The Bricks & Wood x New Balance 57/40 and apparel collection will be available through Bricks & Wood on May 27th, followed by a global launch via newbalance.com on June 4th.
