For this year’s Call of Duty release, Activision and Infinity Ward will be rebooting the Modern Warfare series. The upcoming title, simply known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, will not be set in the same universe as the original Modern Warfare trilogy, but does feature some of the same faces of the original Modern Warfare games that were introduced in 2007.

With this new title, Infinity Ward will be bridging the gap between PC and console players. The game will be equipped with cross-play support for multiplayer on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. IW will also be straying away from the current season-pass trend. “We’re eliminating the traditional season pass, so that we can deliver more free maps and content as well as post-launch events to all players”, says Creative Director of Infinity Ward Patrick Kelly. “This is just the beginning – there’s much more to come”.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is available for pre-order now and is scheduled to release on October 25th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out the official reveal trailer below.
