Carhartt WIP and New Balance have unveiled their first ever collaboration, teaming up on the release of a 990v1, as well as apparel and accessories.
The collection is built around the idea of the sculpture center, a composite of humble neighborhood gyms found across America. A palette of dark blues and greys is used throughout the collection, while the apparel features trophy motifs and collegiate-inspired typography.
Carhartt WIP’s 990v1 features silver blue mesh construction with navy hairy suede overlays. Mismatching New Balance and Carhartt WIP branding appears on the tongue tags, as well as on the heel panels. Hits of tan are used on the sockliner and on the heel of the outsole, while the rest of the outsole comes in black. Additional details include reflect silver N side panel logos and heel tabs, Carhartt WIP branding on the insoles, off-white laces, and an off-white heel counter and midsole.
The accompanying apparel includes a Carhartt WIP Arcan Jacket in a washed-out canvas, equipped with a snap-on hood. Additionally, the collection offers a short-sleeve sweatshirt, graphic tees, and accessories including a a reversible beanie, towel, and Nalgene water bottle.
The Carhartt WIP x New Balance 990v1 “Sculpture Center” collection will be available on Friday, September 16th at select Carhartt WIP stores, the Carhartt WIP website, NewBalance.com, and select global retailers. Check out the campaign imagery below.
