Last year, New Balance introduced the 327 with a celebrated partnership with Casablanca. The two are now continuing their partnership with new styles, a monogram edition of the 327 and the all-new 237 model.
First seen back in September, both pairs come dressed in a white, green, and pink color scheme. The 327 sees the oversized ‘N’ logo on the outer medial side of the shoe while the 237 has it on both sides. The Casablanca jacquard pattern adorns the upper and wraps the heel and toe areas on both models and the Casablanca rosette pattern flows down the tongue as well. Perforated white leather uppers make up the majority of both pairs and sit on top of thick midsoles. The outsoles are very different — the 327 has the rugged nubs we’re used to, while the 237 has a sleeker, flat zig-zag wave style. The midsoles on both models come in the same vibrant green color.
The 237 is a brand new model and is referred to as the direct descendant of the 327. Similar design lines are easy to find between the two though the 237 smooths out many of the sharp lines on the 327 and introduces a new midsole. Casablanca designer Charaf Tajer called the 237 “a softer, more versatile silhouette.”
Both styles will be available February 27th on the Casablanca website. A global release via select retailers is slated for March 5th. Each retail for $150 USD.
