Original Story (01/16/22): Men’s Fall 2022 fashion week has begun. Rei Kawakubo held the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS AW2022 show at the CDG headquarters in Tokyo today, revealing an upcoming collab with Nike on the Air Max 97.

Recent COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike collabs have included the Fall/Winter 2021 Air Foamposite One and the upcoming Air Sunder Max for Spring/Summer 2022. These are followed up by two colorways of the Air Max 97, which is fitting as the silhouette is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The Christian Tresser-designed model was first released in 1997 and features a wavy upper inspired by the ripples made from water dropping into a pond.

The first colorway of the CDG HOMME PLUS Air Max 97 comes equipped with a bluish grey upper paired with all-white sole unit that features full-length, visible Air. The second colorway comes in a stealthy black-on-black color scheme. Both colorways feature an acid wash-like design across their double-layered distressed leather uppers.

Check out shots of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max 97 below. Expect these to drop in Fall/Winter 2022 at select retailers such as Dover Street Market. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
