Original Story (08/16/21): In 2007, CLOT designed two BE@RBRICKs as part of a MEDICOM TOY x Levi’s Artist Series project. The design concept was inspired by Edison Chen’s favorite fruits: strawberries and watermelons. Originally released in 100% and 400% sizing, the project was so popular that it spawned a 1000% release and a whole “Exotic Fruits” CLOT x MEDICOM TOY collection in 2010. Fourteen years separated from the original release, we are now getting new fruit-themed CLOT x MEDICOM TOY BE@RBRICKs.
“Introducing some new fruits for this summer…” reads one of the captions that accompany new teaser images posted by CLOT and Edison Chen. Revealed are two BE@RBRICKs in what appears to be yellow watermelon and white strawberry variations, two fruits that are typically sweeter than their more common red counterparts.
The CLOT x MEDICOM TOY “Summer Fruits” BE@RBRICKs are expected to release soon via JUICE STORE. Check out the teaser images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more info.
Update (08/22/21): CLOT has officially unveiled their “Summer Fruits” BE@RBRICKS, consisting of “Snow Strawberry” and “Yellow Watermelon” variants. These will be available worldwide on August 27th via JUICE STORE, each available in 1000% sizing and as a 100% + 400% set. Photos below are from a pop-up at Trois Cafe Shop in Hong Kong.
