CLOT Unveils Its First-Ever Timberland Collab

After teaming up with Jordan Brand on the Jade 5 Low, CLOT is back with another footwear collaboration, this time with Timberland.

For their first collaboration together, CLOT and Timberland present two iterations of the 3-Eye Lug Handsewn boat shoe, as well as a range of workwear-inspired apparel. The pieces feature CLOT’s signature East-meets-West design philosophy and are inspired by the dragon, a legendary creature in Chinese folklore.

“Dragon motifs have always shown up in our designs. It’s mystical, it demands power, and it’s very representative of Chinese culture,” says Edison Chen, CLOT founder and creative director. “The embroidery is very much an ode to hand-stitch culture back in the day, and abstractly also tattoo culture, because it seems to have translated into Chinese tattoos where dragons and all those old motifs are showing up on people’s tattoo artworks.”

Dropping in “Black” and “Wheat” colorways, the 3-Eye Lug Handsewn boat shoe features an uptilted toe upper reminiscent of a growling dragon’s head and is topped with handsewn silk embroidery for the eyes and flames. Eco-innovative materials are used in its construction, including 34% recycled rubber outsoles and Better Leather from a tannery rated silver for its environmental practices.

The collection is introduced with a campaign video starring professionals performing the dragon dance, an ancient Chinese tradition believed to bring rain and good fortune. “We introduced the dragon dance because it takes more than one person to complete this task,” says Chen. “Timberland is a sustainable, earth-loving company, and it takes harmony and teamwork to be able to achieve a better world, which, at the same time, are all very core CLOT values.”

The CLOT x Timberland collection drops on July 20th at select JUICE locations worldwide, JUICESTORE.com, Timberland.com, and select retailers. Check out the campaign imagery and complete range below.
