Just after we got a sneak peek at COMME des GARÇONS’ upcoming Nike Air Carnivore, the immensely popular fashion house’s SHIRT sub-line has given us a look at an incoming collaboration with ASICS.

The COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT SS21 collection features two sneakers with ASICS—one relatively versatile, the other far more avant-garde. The ASICS TARTHER runner serves up vintage trainer goodness in two different colorways. While both shoes use a relatively similar color scheme that involves a white mesh and leather toebox, black eyestay paneling, and a white ASICS logo featuring TARTHER branding on the lateral heel, each offers a different color speckled synthetic upper underneath their similar overlays; The first TARTHER comes in an eye-catching pink with gold flecks, and the second swaps the pink for a bright blue.

The second model, however, takes a completely different design route. The ASICS Winjob CP303 was originally made for kitchen workers as an anti-slip shoe and features extremely minimal detailing. A strap provides primary lockdown above an unbroken toe panel and is rounded out by small ASICS heel branding. CdG SHIRT elevates the silhouette by adding Chinese artist Yue Minjun’s signature laughing figurines to the toebox, almost reminiscent of custom-painted footwear.

Look for the at COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT SS21 footwear collection to begin to hit stockists around February of 2021, while their FW20 collab on the ASICS GEL-LYTE III should be arriving real soon. Check out the SS21 footwear options below.
