Six years after the two first came together for their “First String” campaign, Converse and Boston-based Bandulu Street Couture return with a basketball-inspired collaboration featuring reimagined silhouettes of the iconic Chuck 70 and Pro Leather, as well as apparel.
The first of the two pairs, the Chuck 70, is composed of a “Cappucino” brown upper with different signature Bandulu embroideries such as colorful paint drips and leaves and branches. The tongue also features an embroidered Bandulu logo. The Pro Leather pair comes in a warm, wheat-colored suede, creating a resemblance to the design of the notorious Timberland 6-inch boot. The pair also features similar embroidery and the Bandulu design stamp.
Complementing the two shoes, the on-theme apparel line features a “Cappucino” brown zip-up hoodie with a contrasting “Mustard” hood, matching “Mustard” basketball shorts, and a minimal white tee featuring a line-drawing graphic of a dog wearing classic Converse Chucks and Pro Leathers. A basketball bag enhanced with hand-stitched detail is also featured in the collection, however, it will be released separately.
The Converse x Bandulu Collection drops on February 11th via the Bandulu website, Converse.com, and select retailers. The basketball bag will be released in limited quantities on March 29th via Bandulu and Converse.
