The partnership between Converse and Carhartt WIP has been going strong for six years now, giving us a few workwear-inspired spins on the classic Chuck 70 along the way. Converse’s skate division, Converse CONS, and Carhartt WIP are now teaming up for their first-ever collaborative skate shoes.
Together, they present the Converse Fastbreak Pro and the One Star Pro in Carhartt WIP’s signature workwear-inspired aesthetic, combining a mix of materials that includes canvas, leather, and suede. The mid-top Fastbreak, originally introduced as a basketball silhouette in 1983, comes equipped with a sail suede upper paired with a white leather mid-panel underlay that provides a nice contrast. The silhouette is finished off with a black midsole, rubber gum outsole, and embellished with a special co-branded logo on the tongue.
The One Star has also been re-engineered to be skate-ready with rubber traction for performance riding and impact-absorbing CX cushioning. Leather, suede, and canvas make up the upper once again, while the all-black sole unit comes with an added gum rubber toe bumper. The One Star Pro features the same collaboration logo on the tongue as well as additional branding embossed on the heel.
Carhartt WIP first launched its skate team in 1997 and over time has shared several riders with the Converse CONS team, including Roman Gonzalez, Felipe Bartolomé, Rémy Taveira, and Sylvain Tognelli. This collaboration builds upon this crossover and both brands’ shared skateboarding ideals. Campaign imagery for this release is a compilation from various photographers in different cities, including London, Paris, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
The Carhartt WIP x Converse CONS Fastbreak Pro and One Star Pro will be available starting March 31st on the Carhartt WIP website, Converse.com, at Carhartt WIP stores, and at select retailers.
