Converse pays tribute to sir Julius Erving, by reconstructing the basketball shoe Dr.J wore during his NBA career. By incorporating Horween Chomexcel Leather from the Chicago-based tannery, Converse takes the classic silhouettes and creates two new colorways of Burgundy and Black. Both of these Pro Leathers feature an “Iron-On” All Star logo on the tongue, DR.J in the classic gold Converse text and white midsoles. There are less than 400 pairs of each of the Horween Pro Leathers that will be available. The first colorway, Black, will release Sept 10, 2011 then the Burgundy in November.
