Chinese superstar Lay Zhang has reunited with Converse to drop a Chuck 70 that combines style cues from the East with the West for his own signature look.
The shoe comes dressed primarily in white with blue accents inspired by traditional Chinese blue and white porcelain. Lotus flower detailing is found on the tongue and the heel strap, as well as on a bandana that comes wrapped around the upper that represents dance inspiration from the west. The bandana can be removed and be used as an accessory, a reflection of the style Zhang often displayed as a member of the K-pop group EXO. The icy sole unit is translucent and reveals additional lotus flower detailing underfoot, and the outsole is glow-in-the dark, symbolizing Lay’s perseverance in practicing alone in a dark dance studio.
