XXXV Years of Black History: In 1976, Julius Erving aka ‘Dr.J’ puts his stamp on the Pro Leather—a shoe eventually dubbed the “Dr. J”. The shoe made it’s mark on the hardwood court along with Dr.J’s innovative style of flying high above all. During his NBA career, Dr.J fused his talent’s that he developed during the ABA season and made it known in the NBA with his former team before the 76ers, the New York Nets; Now known as the New Jersey Nets. Soon after, His career continued with the Philadelphia 76ers where he won his first NBA title against the Los Angeles Lakers.
