Following the launch of the Run Star Motion CX back in June, Converse is now releasing the next model in its 2021 CX lineup, the Weapon CX.
The Converse Weapon CX is a contemporary take on the classic ’80s basketball Weapon silhouette, worn on-court by many of the greats such as Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. After getting an avante-garde redesign by Rick Owens, the silhouette is now treated to a lifestyle makeover with modern design cues and Converse’s CX innovation.
The reimagined Weapon CX pays homage to its ’80s predecessor, dressed in the same black and white colorway as its OG 1986 release and bringing back the Y-Bar and Star Chevron branding. The new thick midsole is made of CX foam, providing impact cushioning and long lasting comfort while showcasing an appreciation for the elevated footwear profiles seen on today’s runways.
The Converse Weapon CX launches on September 2nd on Converse.com and at select global retailers.
