Original Story (08/10/20): National Kobe Bryant Day is almost here, and it looks like Nike and the NBA are gearing up for the celebrations. The holiday takes place on August 24th (8/24), an homage to both of the numbers that Kobe wore throughout his illustrious NBA career.
Over the weekend, it was revealed that three colorways of the Kobe V Protro will finally see a retail release (Lakers, Big Stage, EYBL). NBA players DeMar DeRozan and PJ Tucker also did their own Kobe V reveals, each showing off their own PE colorways. DeRozan hit the court in a Spurs-themed colorway, dressed in the team’s colors, grey and black. Tucker shared an in-hand look at a blue and purple pair on his IG story. Both feature zebra-print on the toe box and quarter panels, while hypnotic checkerboard print is used for the overlays.
Tucker also revealed that his Kobe V PE will see a retail release soon, though he didn’t provide any detailed release information. Since DeRozan’s PE features a similar design to Tucker’s, it’s safe to assume that his pair will also get a retail release. Check out both Nike Kobe V Protro PEs below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for info on their release.
