With the unveiling of a shoe that gathered mobs of people, reminiscent of 90’s Jordan releases, Derrick Rose made appearances at the Adidas Store in Water Tower and the Foot Locker on State Street on Saturday, to promote the release of newest signature model, the adiZero Rose 2 …

People gathered outside both downtown locations, some as early as 12 am that morning, for a chance to get their picture taken with the NBA’s youngest MVP in league history. Modern Notoriety was on hand as Rose stopped by Foot Locker to talk about the latest shoe in his signature line, take a few photos with fans and bask in the love shown from his hometown. At first glimpse of the adiRose 2, you’ll notice the lower-cut, making this the first time Rose will play in low-cut shoe in his professional career. The ankle collar will also still allow the Bulls point guard to wear his Speed Wrap ankle braces, as well as giving those who don’t wear ankle braces, a lock down fit.

There’s also the SprintWeb and mesh construction that helps reduce weight without sacrificing performance, lace-support panels, SprintFrame heel counter for additional stability and motion control, an EVA midsole and all-new Splatter Traction Surface on the outsole.

Some of the cue’s on the adiRose 2 is the “All Flights Cancelled” on top of the tongue, which plays on the graphics of the insole as flights to Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, Denver, Charlotte, Oklahoma and New York are cancelled, but Chicago is marked cleared for takeoff.

Lastly, Rose’s number 1 is right above the toe box and the volcanic inspired outsole comes from Rose’s quiet but deadly fast bursts on the court.
