Diadora and Foot Locker, Inc. have teamed up with Philly-based artist Keith Shore to celebrate the 45th anniversary of MGM’s boxing saga Rocky.
Using the Diadora N9002 as a canvas, Keith Shore has designed a trio of sneakers, each themed after one of Rocky’s opponents: Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers), Clubber Lang (played by Mr. T), and Ivan Drago (played by Dolph Lundgren). The Apollo pair comes in blue and red, Clubber’s in sky blue and white, and Drago’s in red and yellow.
Each pair features their respective character’s name on the tongues, plus a cartoon head of the character on the heel and removable hang tag. Additionally, the insoles feature Keith Shore’s cartoon artwork of the great Rocky receiving punches from his opponents. To finish off, the three pairs showcase the Rocky logo on the lateral side near the heel.
45 years after its initial debut, Rocky still has its place as one of the greatest boxing movies of all time, even sparking the Creed franchise and countless apparel collections since.
