Reebok and legendary design house Eames Office continue their partnership with the announcement of their next release, the Club C “Dot Pattern & Composition Pack.”
After dropping their Club C “Monotone Pack” last October, this second Eames x Reebok drop honors the designs of Charles and Ray Eames while bringing together the worlds of sneakers, fine art, and interior design. The “Composition” colorway is based on Ray’s 1939 painting of the same name. The subtle natural tones of the painting dress the entirety of the upper, while the midsole comes in crisp white. Ray’s handwritten signature on the lateral side panel adds a personal connection to the collectible sneaker.
The “Dot Pattern” colorway comes dressed in the textile print that was considered but not submitted by the Eames Office to MoMA’s 1947 Competition for Printed Fabrics. This Dot Pattern print, representing the interconnectedness of Eames design, is placed across a natural upper, which rests on an unassuming raw rubber sole.
For this collab, Reebok reengineered the Club C to make it as faithful to the original 1985 release as possible, while including improvements in materials and process. Heritage details include original size tongue tags, squared-off window boxes, die-cut tooling, original Eames and Reebok logos, and the Club C’s original internal arch bandage. The box that the shoes come in is modeled after the Eames House— Case Study House No. 8—in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The Eames x Reebok Club C “Composition” and “Dot Pattern” launch on March 17th at 10am EST on the Eames Office website, followed by a wider release the following day on Reebok.com and at select retailers. Check out both pairs below.
