Editorial: Chuck Modern Colors

1

Chicago – Home of some of the greatest sports teams, City of Wind and one of the most influential places when it comes to style. Footwear is a big thing in this city and what you wear with it matters which why “you are what you wear”, isn’t taken lightly in the Chi. For this editorial, we take on the Chuck Modern Colors Collection – a series of chucks that fuse Converse’s rich sports heritage transformed with leading lightweight modern design. The fashion forward silhouette is Converse‘s latest approach that doesn’t veer too far from it’s origins.

When it comes to branding, Converse has always made sure to showcase it’s signature star logo boldly and on the Hi’s, an embossed version is seen on the ankle collar in detail. The colorway seen here offers a monochromatic mix of white and black, delivering a neutral take. This colorway is paired up with the grey Essentials sweats once again, giving you another go-to cozy option to lace up during the winter.

Passing along the Chicago river, we laced up a pair of the Converse Chuck Hi in Olive that went well with the grey sweats from the Converse Essentials collection. The Olive colorway in particular makes a highlight for any fit, as the tones coincide with the trending color palette seen on most clothing pieces in 2017. The thicker outsole in particular is yet another highlight on this silhouette, adding a much bolder look to the OG Chuck Taylor model from yesteryear. The Chuck Taylor Hi will available for $110 on Converse.com.

Another classic silhouette that’s been updated for a modern look, is the Chuck Taylor Ox – a low top model that’s been a go-to for many and an important staple to outfits. For this take, Converse took the DNA of the OG OX and added it’s modern take once again with a reinvented outsole, solid canvas uppers and hits of black for an artistic approach on the bottom. The colorways of the OX will be offered white, maroon and blue and will retail for $100 on Converse.
