New Balance will be launching a collaboration 530 model with professional baseball athlete Evan Longoria. A lifelong sneaker enthusiast, Longoria worked hand-in-hand with the New Balance design team for this limited edition version of the 530. With access to New Balance’s classic styles and collaborations, Longoria selected the 530 for its clean lines and heritage.
You normally don’t hear about collaborations between footwear companies and baseball players until now. In collaboration with Tampa Bay Ray Evan Longoria, comes the New Balance 530 decked out in premium materials and an awesome aesthetic. The collab offers Denim and Pigskin Suede that constructs the upper alongside additional details around the shoe.
The incorporation of denim was important to Longoria and influenced by his off-field style. The 530 offers additional details that are inspired by Longoria’s baseball background – a sheep skin lining for a baseball glove like feel; speckled midsole to represent the infield of a baseball diamond; and, a ‘530’ lace keeper with the number 3 engraved to pay homage to Longoria’s jesey number/ The style also has a signed “Evan Longoria” sock liner; reflective ‘N’ logo underlay and heel tab; and, two lace options.
