Jerry Lorenzo Unveils Fear of God x New Era Fall 2021

1

As we shift from summer to fall, so do the seasonal transitions in TV, entertainment, sports and fashion. The latter two are receiving some contribution from designer Jerry Lorenzo as he pairs his Fear of God brand with New Era for a new MLB-themed collection. In celebration of America’s favorite pastime, the two are presenting a series of 59FIFTY Fitted hats and an Essentials 950 RC collection.

The 59FIFTY Fitteds honors Lorenzo’s father Jerry Manuel, who was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1972. Each come with an “F” logo in soft cream Old English font, a nod to the “D” logo of the Motor City team. There are four classic colorways, coming in kelly green, orange, navy, and black, as well as three exclusive colorways. A “Dodger Blue” fitted with World Series patch that will drop exclusively in the West Coast, a dark green colorway is exclusive to New Era, and a kelly green colorway with orange bill is dropping at Foot Locker Inc. retailers.

Also unveiled in the campaign is the FG snapback, which takes on more of a retro design. A driving design factor is the KC Monarch motifs that celebrate the Negro Leagues’ centennial anniversary. White and red serve as the canvas palette while an “F” and “G” take on the front paneling. Proceeds from this iteration, which releases this winter, will benefit the Kansas City Negro League Museum.

The navy and black 59FIFTY Fitted will release August 20th exclusively through the Fear of God website. The rest of the Essential 59FIFTY Fitteds and Essentials 950 Royal Crown collection will release through the New Era site and select retailers worldwide on August 20th.
