Original Story (01/24/22): Elissa Steamer’s skate and surf brand Gnarhunters has a second collaboration with Nike SB in the works. Two year following their 2019 teamup on the Zoom Blazer Mid, we are treated to a Gnarhunters edition of the Nike SB Dunk Low.
Like the previous collab, the shoe comes in a mostly black color scheme, though we see pops of white on the co-branded tongue tag, “GNAR” branding on the heels, and the outsoles. Materials on these are far from standard, with towel-like terry cloth used for the base and sockliner paired with wetsuit-like neoprene on the overlays. Laces are also unconventional, opting for bungee-style laces instead of your standard flat laces. Other details include removable Velcro Swooshes and insoles that feature Gnarhunters’ “Fun Screen” and snorkel graphics. The shoe even comes with a wax comb hangtag to add to the surf theme.
