Original Story (03/29/20): Following a first look at the Ben & Jerry’s SB Dunk Low, we now have a first look at another possible Nike Skateboarding collaboration in the form of a Grateful Dead x Nike SB Dunk Low.
This SB Dunk Low is inspired by a series of bears that appear on the back cover of Grateful Dead’s 1973 album History of the Grateful Dead, Volume One Bear’s Choice). The back cover artwork features bears marching in a circle, each one dressed in a different color. This Dunk resembles the green bear, with its fuzzy green upper, green suede overlays, and blue jagged Swoosh. A zipper to a stash pocket is seen at the top of the tongue. The sole is comprised of a matching green midsole and a blue outsole.
It is believed that this SB Dunk Low will release as part of a larger “Grateful Dead Bears” pack consisting of three different-colored fuzzy Dunks, sort of like the “Three Bears” pack that released in 2006. Grab a look at this pair below and expect a release sometime this year. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
