Haroshi & PANGAIA Drop Karimoku BE@RBRICK-Themed Capsule

Japanese artist and skater Haroshi Karimoku is known for his wooden sculptures crafted from skate decks, most notably his collaborations with Karimoku and MEDICOM TOY on the BE@RBRICK. Following a successful 2019 collab, Haroshi reconnects with PANGAIA, a materials science company dedicated to creating sustainable garments, this time using the Haroshi BE@RBRICK as the main inspiration for the designs.

The collection features t-shirts in adult and kid sizing, hoodies, track pants and tote bags, each drawing emphasis to the Haroshi BE@RBRICK’s colorfully charged palette. Pieces will be available in Cobalt blue, Flamingo pink, Saffron yellow, black and white schemes.

The capsule draws inspiration from both participant’s creative flow. Using a Buddhist practice called Unkei, Haroshi stacks, carves and polishes the decks, placing a piece of the finished product into the “soul” of his sculptures. The Karimoku BE@RBRICK utilizes Japanese maple wood for a layered finish.

Haroshi and PANGAIA’s views align in their love and respect for art and sustainability. PANGAIA is hoping to continue their efforts in dedicating time to artists, communities and changemakers.

The Haroshi x PANGAIA BE@RBRICK capsule is releasing July 27th. Find it online on the PANGAIA website and the 2G concept store in Tokyo.
