Vault by Vans and Haven are coming together for their third collaboration in as many years, presenting a fresh iteration of the ’90s skate classic Lampin silhouette.
The OG Lampin VLT LX is getting an upgrade of technical proportions, boosting its understated minimalism to new heights. What separates the sneaker from its competitors is its protection from the elements. Offered in “Black” and “Marshmallow” colorways, the uppers utilize a water-resistant crushed suede. Nubuck appears on the midfoot and heel while pigskin leather coats the shoe’s inner lining. A padded collar provides some additional comfort and support. Co-branding comes in the form of a logoed insole, sitting on a bed of ULTRACUSH™ HD foam. Familiar waffle outsoles round out the construction.
Haven’s contributions to the project work so well because of their understanding of Canada’s four seasons and the attributes that comprise a functional piece. Partnering with Vans’ expertise of style and practicality, the result is a utilitarian-meets-skater offering.
The Vault by Vans x Haven OG Lampin VLT LX will release on October 23rd at Haven’s Toronto and Vancouver stores as well as the Haven website, priced at $150 CAD. In-store releases are at noon local time, while the online release is scheduled for 11am ET.
