Esteemed Chicago-based artist Hebru Brantley is reconnecting with adidas for the release of two new Forum sneakers, following the release of his now coveted BBC “Flyboy” Rivalry Hi at Art Basel Miami 2019.
This time around, Brantley brings his signature Frogboy and Rocket characters to life on the Forum High and Forum Low, respectively. These characters were created as storytelling mechanisms centered around Black heroes and futurism, shedding light on individualism and expression.
Both shoes are executed in tones from Brantley’s signature color palette, with the “Rocket” Lows dressed in bright blue and the “Frogboy” Highs in a mix of olive and black with pops of pink and blue. Brantley’s characters appear on the tongue tags, while hand-drawn trefoil branding and illustrated graphic insoles are inspired by Brantley’s street art and graffiti roots.
