Vans has announced the grand opening of its new House of Vans location in Mexico City, joining the other current House of Vans outposts in Chicago and London.

The new community-focused multidisciplinary space is part skatepark, part music venue, part theater, part art gallery, and more. The grand opening on December 9th will feature a live performance by Japanese Breakfast, with subsequent shows by CDMX-based musicians Molotov on December 10th and Hot Chip on December 11th.

Besides live music from notable local and global acts, the space also offers places to chill, work, and learn across its two stories and yard. Admission is free of charge, including on concert nights.

HOV Mexico City features areas for park and street skating and BMX riding, as well as a rooftop bowl and patio with an impressive view of the city. The space will also host interactive workshops with artists of different disciplines. The gallery space will see a rotating lineup of artists, opening with Marcos Castro, the artist responsible for House of Vans Mexico City’s main mural. The movie theater will be used to showcase everything from premieres of Vans’ latest skate and BMX videos to screenings of independent films. There’s even a world-class cooking space on site for the best chefs in Mexico.

“It is an honor for Vans to permanently open House of Vans Mexico City,” says Iñigo Perezcano, Vans Senior Marketing Manager. “It’s a space where the ‘Off The Wall’ spirit lives, which will enable action sports, music, art, and street culture communities to embrace and develop their expressive creativity to keep making history within Mexico City’s rich creative landscape.”

House of Vans Mexico City is located at Ruben 6, Col. San Juan in the city’s bustling Mixcoac neighborhood. You can stay up to date with HOV Mexico City on vans.mx/houseofvans and by following the House Of Vans CDMX Instagram. Check out photos of the new space below.
