Following a partnership announcement and launch of the Sky Dreamer earlier this year, J. Cole has teamed up with PUMA for the rapper’s first ever signature sneaker: the RS-Dreamer.

The Dreamer sets out to be a high-performance basketball sneaker that can truly be worn both on and off the court. The shoe uses Puma’s RS Foam found in their runners in combination with ProFoam for a high-speed shoe that offers superior energy return. The silhouette also comes equipped with a new cord lacing system. The RS-Dreamer’s initial colorway equips the shoe with a primarily black upper and a multicolor sculpted foam midsole. The midsole’s yellows, oranges, purples, and teals give the shoe an eye-catching playfulness while still exuding an air of high-tech performance.

The model has already been seen on multiple pro basketball players as the sport returns in the midst of the pandemic and is a first for both Puma and Cole—Neither have had a signature basketball sneaker up until now. “Over the years, basketball shoes have progressed greatly in their level of technology and comfort but have strayed too far away from designs stylish enough for cultural relevancy,” Cole explains. “The Dreamer hopes to change that reality. The highest level of on-court performance meets the highest level of aesthetic design for daily wear. Once again, you can hoop in the same shoes you wore outside.”

The RS-Dreamer releases in-store and online exclusively via the Foot Locker Inc. Family of Brands (Including Foot Locker, Champs, Footaction and Eastbay) and via PUMA.com and PUMA stores starting on Friday, July 31st. The shoe retails for $125 and will see additional colorways released throughout 2020. Take a look at the shoe (and some on-court photos) down below.
