Pro Skater Jamal Smith Gets His Own adidas Adimatic

Along with the return of OG colorways, adidas Skateboarding is bringing the ’90s Adimatic out the vault with a special edition colorway designed by pro skater Jamal Smith.

Since 2006, Jamal Smith has been bringing his sense of humor to the skateboarding community with his hilarious Youtube videos. The “Tornado Spin” video is legendary, though you may be more familiar with the “Wack!” meme. It wasn’t until the tail-end of 2019 when Smith officially signed with Palace and turned pro at the age of 30. Now as a member of the adidas skate team, Smith’s career has reached another milestone, getting his own skate shoe.

Jamal Smith’s adidas Adimatic comes equipped with a durable black suede upper with orange accents on the thick side stripes. A repeat symbol (🔁) appears on the branding on the OrthoLite insoles, nodding to Smith’s affinity for 360Âș tricks, though also nodding to the sample loops in his beat-making hobby (check out his Soundcloud here). A black midsole and gum outsole rounds out the design.

“I’m insanely grateful to be a part of the Three Stripes family. I never thought I’d get the opportunity to work with adidas,” says Jamal Smith. “The Adimatic launch makes me feel a mixture of emotions—I’m extremely appreciative and dumbfounded. It means the world to me, for real. I already had the colorway and idea in my head for years. Definitely going to be skating this model for a minute and I hope the rest of the world enjoys it, too.”

The Jamal Smith x adidas Adimatic drops on May 14th on adidas.com/skateboarding and at select skate shops. Check out the pair below.
