Original Story (12/01/20): Following an announcement of the partnership back in October, we now have a first look at the upcoming Joe Freshgoods x Converse collaboration.
Images shared by the Chicago designer reveal a Converse Chuck 70, each panel dressed in various prints and designs. Tie-dye on the tongue, airbrushing on the quarter panel, a floral smiley face graphic — various tee designs used by the Don’t Be Mad designer in his career come together to cover each panel of the shoe’s upper. A tag resembling one you would find on the hem of a tee hangs off the CTAS emblem, continuing the t-shirt theme.
The t-shirt holds special importance to Joe. A poster of the JFG Chuck 70 reads “T-Shirts Changed My Life. It’s How I Communicate. Let’s Have a Conversation.” Some of the apparel releasing alongside the JFG x Converse is also previewed.
Look for the Joe Freshgoods x Converse Chuck 70 and accompanying apparel to launch globally later this month via Converse.com and select retailers. The pair comes in a previously previewed orange Converse shoe box with “*NOT A Bootleg This Time” written, a nod to the unofficial JFG x Converse collabs of years past.
