West Side Chicago designer and creative director Joe Freshgoods first connected with the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago in July 2018 to launch a collection of apparel and accessories. Two years later, JFG x MCA is back with a new capsule collection, titled “The Youth in You is Happy.”
Freshgoods, the self-proclaimed “gift shop papi,” has had to forgo his plans for any physical pop-ups for the foreseeable future, but that hasn’t stopped the designer from unleashing his latest project. Based on its video teaser, this upcoming online-only launch appears to be a whimsical commentary on our situation in 2020. Though the year has been rough, seeing the world through a childlike perspective inspires joy and hope for the future.
The JFG for MCA “The Youth in You is Happy” collection launches Tuesday, August 4th, at 1pm CT on mcachicagostore.org.
