Jordan Unveils Sustainable “Crater” Footwear Collection

0

While we’ve seen various leaks and hints of some of the models involved, it looks like Jordan Brand is officially set to take part in Nike’s Move to Zero sustainability initiative.

Jordan will make its eco-focused debut with the Crater collection this fall. The collection encompasses three silhouettes, all of which wear their sustainability with pride. The Jordan Crater, an all-new silhouette, uses 100% recycled nylon webbing in a unique lockdown and stabilization system for all-day comfort and performance. The recycled webbing is also seen on the Crater Slide, a cozy slip-on with adjustable Velcro straps. Finally, the collection’s Jordan 1 High Zoom bridges cutting-edge manufacturing techniques and sustainability initiatives with the ultimate silhouette in the Jordan legacy. The upper contains both synthetic suede and rPoly, recycled polyester made in part from recycled water bottles, and sits comfortably atop a full-length Zoom Air unit.

Each shoe in the collection features its namesake Crater Foam, a blend of other Nike Foams speckled with post-consumer Nike Grind flecks. This foam was first introduced in the Space Hippie collection, Nike’s flagship project within Move to Zero.
