Arthur Kar’s L’Art de L’Automobile has revealed its latest collaboration with Vault by Vans, three colorways of the OG Old Skool LX that pay homage to dragster culture. This marks the second KAR x Vans Vault collab, following up the black and white Eras released in 2020.
The renowned, Paris-based automobile dealer and collector has outfitted the Old Skool in details that nod to classic Dragster. Design elements include suede uppers, L’Art de L’Automobile branding on the medial stripe, an embroidered flaming exhaust at the end of the lateral stripe, an embossed vent (from the Golf GTi) on the toe box, and crystal Waffle outsoles with GAS and BRAKE graphics. The shoe comes in red, yellow, and green colorways, nodding to the lights at the start of a drag race, with the green colorway being L’Art exclusive. Each shoe comes in special custom packaging.
The KAR x Vans Vault OG Old Skool LX collection will be available this Thursday, February 17th on the KAR L’Art de l’Automobile website. The shoes will also be available at a temporary L’Art shop located at 16 des Filles du Calvaire in Paris opening on Friday, February 18th. Other retailers carrying the collection include Notre and Dover Street Market, releasing on February 18th.
