To celebrate International Women’s Day, Kith Women has teamed up with renowned photographer Robert Whitman and the manager of the Aaliyah Estate, the beloved artist’s brother Rashad Haughton, on a project to honor the life and legacy of his late sister.
Together, Kith and the Aaliyah Estate have created a clothing capsule which features never-before-seen pictures of Aaliyah taken by Whitman. They also shot a short film with students from Aaliyah’s alma mater, the Detroit School of Arts, where Aaliyah graduated with a 4.0 GPA and now houses a recital hall named in her honor.
100% of the proceeds from the capsule are to be donated, divided between the school and I Support The Girls, a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing females experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity.
The Kith Women for Aaliyah Capsule releases on International Women’s Day, March 8th, at all Kith shops, 11am EST on KithWomen.com and 11am CET on EU.Kith.com.
