Indiana-based streetwear brand Kitowares is gearing up for the launch of its latest sneakers: the Skate Low “Root of All Evil” and “100 Trillion Dollar Shoe.” Previous releases from the brand include the “Mother Mary” Tribus and the “Passion of Christ” shoe.
With these upcoming releases, Kitowares founder and designer David Norris aims to start a conversation about governmental corruption that stems from greed at the highest level. The “Root of All Evil” shoe comes in a pink color scheme and features a canvas upper with a print comprised of various currencies whose value fell victim to greed and corruption. Similarly, the “100 Trillion Dollar Shoe” comes in blue and features a print of the Zimbabwe $100 trillion bill, a bank note that was printed during the country’s massive hyperinflation crisis in 2008.
To further highlight the message of governmental corruption, the marketing campaign for this release includes imagery of the “Root of All Evil” shoe as well as the words “EVIL” and “KITO” being projected onto the White House.
The Kitowares Skate Low “Root of All Evil” and “100 Trillion Dollar Shoe” drop this Saturday, March 26th at 3pm ET on kito.online. Each retails for $150 USD, though a discount will be applied if you purchase both colorways. Check out the shoes and campaign imagery below.
