Charlotte Hornets point guard and Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball officially unveils his first PUMA signature shoe, the MB.01.
The MB.01 is the brand’s first signature shoe since the relaunch of PUMA Hoops in 2018. The debut “Not From Here” colorway is bold in color, adopting an overall bright orange shade. Ball was able to collaborate on the design process, having a say in a few personal details. The flames on the ankle are reflective of his own rocket ankle tattoo. Personal phrases like “Not From Here,” “1 of 1” and “Rare” find themselves placed throughout the construction.
“I live by the motto “One of One,” which means I am not like everyone else. I stand out as being different and I’m always 100% myself,” said LaMelo Ball. “That motto was really the inspiration behind MB.01. I wanted to create a different kind of sneaker, one that is “Not From Here” with a unique design, bright colors and the best technology for a better on-court performance.”
LaMelo Ball is joining the likes of Walt “Clyde” Frazier, Ralph Sampson, and Vince Carter as NBA players with their own PUMA signature shoe. “I wanted to work with a brand that allowed me to be authentic, incorporating my ideas while also giving me the opportunity to show off my personal style,” said LaMelo on joining PUMA.
