Original Story (07/07/21): In 2019, Nike entered into the world of eSports when it signed a sponsorship deal with the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), China’s own professional league for competitive LoL play. Following a reveal of the LPL eSports Kits and the LoL Air Jordan 1 last year, we now have a first look at a LPL x Nike Dunk Low.
This Dunk Low features an upper dressed primarily in black with patterns and textures inspired by traditional Chinese iconography. In contrast, there are also futuristic vibes such as the glow-in-the-dark detailing on the Swoosh outlines, outsoles, and heel panels, as well as the iridescent Swoosh and pixel print on the heel panel. Nods to the Chinese flag include a red sockliner (also the official color of the LPL), and star embroidery on the lateral heel.
