NIGO and Virgil Abloh’s LV² collection for Louis Vuitton returns for a second season, following up their debut Pre-Fall 2020 collection. Today, the frequent collaborators officially unveil the first lookbook for Pre-Spring 2022.
Celebrating the two designers’ cultural diversity, the apparel presented takes inspiration from Western tailoring à la 1950s and ’60s while combining it with the intricate designs of Japanese culture. Blazers, denim suits, shirts, jackets and luggage all feature key elements from the archives of both Human Made and Louis Vuitton labels. Color blocking, kimono styles and quilt-like constructions comprise various pieces, giving a modern, standout effect on an otherwise vintage collection. Branding comes in the form of NIGO’s tiger head and red heart motifs while the classic Louis Vuitton monograms and script font appear elsewhere.
Aside from the clothing, lovers of the collection can also pick up bags, jewelry, “Zillionaire” sunglasses, and footwear. The LV Trainer, chosen shoe of the offering, appears in two versions.
