Last October, LRG unleashed mid ’00s streetwear nostalgia by releasing a new version of its famous Dead Serious skeleton hoodie. This Redux version featured reflective bone print and a fluorescent yellow rotting heart. This year, LRG goes one step further, bringing back the OG Dead Serious hoodie in its original two colorways.

Jonas Bevacqua, the late LRG co-founder, was inspired to create the original Dead Serious hoodie after watching the 1984 film Karate Kid and seeing the skeleton costumes worn by the Cobras during the Halloween fight scene. The hoodie was originally released in 2006 and created a frenzy in the streetwear community. It was famously worn by Kanye West at the 2006 Stella McCartney fashion show, pictured sitting next to Paul McCartney.

LRG went back to original manufacturer and factory for this 2021 re-release, replicating all of the original design specifications and details. This includes the glow-in-the-dark skeleton print that spans onto the cuffs and up the back of the neck, the gold two-way zipper with LRG logo pull, original LRG gold rivet embroidered on the right chest, and the original LRG woven label at the bottom hem. This release includes two of the OG colorways: the black with purple heart and red with black heart.

The LRG Dead Serious Hoodie makes its return this Friday, October 15th at 9am PT on the LRG website. Sign up for the Dead Serious VIP List for early access. Check out lookbook photos below, starring Benny The Butcher.
