Marc Jacobs x Cactus Plant Flea Market Collection

Following a collaboration with Stray Rats earlier this year, Marc Jacobs is dipping its toe further into the realm of streetwear with a collection in collaboration with Cynthia Lu’s Cactus Plant Flea Market.

Both CPFM and Marc Jacobs are major players in their respective scenes; however, they would seem like unlikely partners for a crossover release. The pieces in the collection, however, speak to the power of CPFM’s playful design vocabulary in combination with Marc Jacobs’ masterful patternwork. The result is a set of products that seem like they’d be equally at home at both a skatepark and a runway show.

The capsule includes button-up jackets, hoodies, longsleeves, a tote bag, and a rug. One of the immediate standout pieces is the Sherpa-style jacket in two different colorways: a cream lambswool-style color and slime green. The jacket uses CPFM’s signature splotchy overprinted style and comes covered in stars and an “MJ” logo. Lu was also inspired by Jacobs’ tattoos for the heavyweight hoodies of the collection, both of which depict tattoo art in her characteristic puffy-print ink designs.

Currently, the CPFM x Marc Jacobs collection is available for pre-order at the brand’s Aoyama flagship store in Tokyo. A wider, global release is currently set for August 14th, likely in part via marcjacobs.com. Check out photos of the collection down below.
