Mark Gonzales x adidas Aloha Super “Wallenberg”

1

In San Francisco, California, exists a set of steps known as the “Wallenburg Four” that are popular within the skateboarding community. Measuring 6 feet high and 22.5 feet long, these steps outside of Raoul Wallenberg High School became famous after their appearance in the 1991 Blind Skateboards “Video Days.” In the video, a young Mark Gonzales ollies over the Big Four, lands the trick, and celebrates with a 180 after. You can see for yourself at the 2:32 mark in the video below.

The now famous “Wallenberg Ollie” is the inspiration behind the latest offering from Mark Gonzales and adidas Skateboarding. Coming in the form of the Aloha Super that debuted last year, the Three Stripes and the Gonz add a creamy suede and leather upper with pink accents to the silhouette, which correspond to the color of the sky and setting sun in the video’s backdrop. The black asphalt at Wallenberg is represented by the contrasting color blocking of the stripes.

The adidas Skateboarding Aloha Super “Wallenberg” will release on November 2nd at select global retailers and adidas.com at a retail price of $90 USD. A North American release is expected in early December. Check out the official images of the sneaker below.
