Original Story (03/10/20): Following the release of his own adidas Superstar, Blondey McCoy shares a first look at another Superstar, this one made in collaboration with veteran skater Mark Gonzales.
This sneaker features an all-white leather construction with an off-white shelltoe and midsole. Three Stripes branding takes on the form of perforations on the side panels, a design feature most commonly seen on the Stan Smith. A patch of Gonz’s “Shmoo” character logo is stitched onto the laterals of the shoe.
We can expect the Mark Gonzales x adidas Superstar to release later this year in celebration of the silhouette’s 50th anniversary. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.

Update (04/22/20): Following Blondey’s teaser, the Gonz adidas Superstar is set to arrive this week. Mark Gonzales gives his own spin to the legendary style, adding his original Shmoo logo on the shoe’s white smooth upper. The lateral Shmoos are drawn with happy faces, while the medial ones have sad faces, possibly a commentary on how people can be happy on the outside while sad on the inside.
