The ‘Matrix’ Trilogy Continues with Fourth Film

Early reports of a new ‘Matrix’ film suggested that the movie franchise was going to be rebooted, with Michael B. Jordan taking over as the lead role, but it looks like the movie producers were able to go a different route.

As reported by Variety, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return in a fourth ‘Matrix’ film as Neo and Trinity, respectively. Lana Wachowski has finished writing the script and will return to direct and produce the film. Lana wrote and directed the original ‘Matrix’ trilogy with her sister, Lilly.

“Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now. I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends,” Wachowski said.

This is great news for the franchise, as we as a culture are currently going through a Keanu Reeves Renaissance. In 2019 alone, Reeves has had starring roles in John Wick 3, Toy Story 4, and Always Be My Maybe. Plus we have yet to see how big of a role Keanu will have in the upcoming CyberPunk 2077 video game. Speaking on behalf on the entire Internet, we can’t wait for more Keanu.
