Following the recent release of Kader Sylla’s purple Superstar ADV, adidas Skateboarding now connects with San Francisco skate brand Maxallure for a collection inspired by classic prep school attire and ’70s collegiate style.
Kicking things off is this adidas Campus ADV, reimagined by Maxallure co-founders Karl Watson and Nick Lockman. The ’80s silhouette is dressed in black and white, with a pop of royal blue added to the heel tab. Additional features include a translucent sole units, MxA branding on the right heel and outsoles, and the collection’s slogan “Think Beautiful Thoughts” printed on the insoles.
Lil Dre, co-owner of Maxallure and pro rider for both brands, was given creative control in designing the collection’s adidas Forum. The Lil Dre x adidas Forum 84 ADV arrives in a white and pink colorway with grey suede stripes and Lil Dre’s name embroidered on the strap. As a nod to classic varsity jackets, the Forum features Maxallure’s MXA branding on the side with numbers “8” and “4” imprinted on the left and right heel.
“This launch means the world to me,” says Lil Dre. “adidas is one of my favorite brands, and I want to thank the entire skateboarding team for helping me bring my vision to life. The Forum High is my favorite silhouette to skate in, and I enjoyed doing something different and not often seen with the colorway. Plus, pink is my favorite color!”
The collegiate inspiration is best showcased on the gender-neutral apparel, with styles such as a cable knit sweater vest, a classic adidas ringer tee, and simple black track pants. Maxallure also offers a coach shirt in white with pearlescent pink buttons, combining a coach jacket and high-end dress shirt into one garment. The apparel features subtle adidas and Maxallure branding, while the back of the ringer tee is adorned with the capsule slogan “Think Beautiful Thoughts.”
The Maxallure x adidas Skateboarding collection drops this Saturday, November 19th on adidas.com, the Maxallure website, and select skate shops worldwide.
